This is a "Character Card" Illustration I did for a game called Exile Gods [link] These were a lot of fun! My AD gave me free reign and I used the opportunity to try out some things I've been wanting to mess with for a while. Although he didn't need backgrounds for these I added some subtle backgrounds to a few of them. Also, the bottom half will be covered with transparent text so I kept it pretty loose down there. Hope you enjoy!

This one was a real quickie. I love to put another days work into this. Oh well.

(sorry for the watermarks! My AD was kind enough to let me post these illustrations before they're released so it's the least I could do.)

Thanks man! I was really enjoying the process at first, but it started getting late and my eyelids started getting heavy and unfortunately some of the chainmail suffered. BUT, overall I guess it still holds together. I'd def go back into that though if I had the time.

Costumes and weapons from Kingdom of Heaven seem to be the reference. Looking good! :)

Definitely! Specifically because I wanted him to have a Templar Knight look. And yea, reference doesn't get any better than Kingdom of Heaven :P

:) I thought so because of a few details - the shape of the crossguard on the sword, the way maille seems heavy and the way the belt was attached to the scabbard. Most artists don't quite know how these things worked and this is exactly what I noticed in KoH, because they did it right. Little details.

= you succeeded. :)
